I met Alex when we both worked at Sephora in 2017. A stunning, intelligent, sweet, kind, inspirational goddess who allowed me to photograph her & create a visual representation of the artwork she is. I am grateful for this powerful woman.
To show my skills in product project shoots, I set up a photoshoot of products with one of my favorite brands, Fresh.
I came to this shoot aiming for creepy, Halloween-ish shots. In addition to those, I was able to photograph my long time friend Raina, and create some work that reflected what my soul was going through at the time. The messages of self reflection and self insight are meaningful, and I am thankful to Raina for allowing me to portray these feelings through our work together.
Emalee and I shot these the very first time we met. We used my dining room & living room as our set, and props that I already had such as my record player and wrapping paper as a background. I am very happy to have had the honor to work with this beautiful and talented woman.
Inspired by levitation photographer Christopher James, I photographed and edited this project to portray a woman floating above the water. I was confident that I would be able to capture and create this concept, and I am excited and motivated by the results of this project.
Nasir is the most fabulous human.
I had the absolute pleasure of photographing my sister, Monique Mitchell. We collaborated on ideas, and this is the final product.
I had the idea to portray mental illness through this dark image. I had seen a drawing years ago and it stuck with me, so I created this photograph version. I was also inspired by poet Rupi Kaur, she has small drawings in her books and one of them inspired me to create a self love piece as well. In all images is my beautiful friend Liz who allowed me to turn her into artwork.
Inspired by the work of Daniel Serva & Kyle Thompson, I wanted to borrow this idea to portray depression and anxiety. It is often difficult to express verbally what that feels like, so I portrayed it visually.
These photographs were taken in different parts of the world. I had the honor of experiencing these amazing cities. Locations include Bermuda, Santorini Greece, Venice, Quebec, Amsterdam, LA, and New York.
